Post-Education
Renewing Your Real Estate License for the First Time
Illinois Broker Post-License Requirements:
If you were initially licensed on or between 8/9/19 and 11/1/19, with an expiration of 9/30/20 (extended from 4/30/20), you must complete 45 hours of Post-License education and renew your license by 11/1/2020 (extended from 9/30/2020).
If you have a license with an expiration of 4/30/22, the 45-Hour Post-License course must be completed prior to renewal.
You are required to complete this course before you will be able to directly handle earnest money, escrows and contract negotiations.
Licensees will have no authority to bind the sponsoring broker until this 45-Hour course is completed.
The 45 hour course consists of three 15 hour sessions. They will be offered consecutively but don’t have to be taken all at once.
The course requires either classroom attendance or live webinar. A 50 question test administered in the class must be passed for each 15 hour course.
