Oregon Real Estate License: Broker

Requirements to Obtain a Broker License:

      • Be 18 years old
      • Provide proof of high school diploma or equivalent
      • Complete 150 hours of education to include:
          • 30 Hours – Real Estate Law
          • 30 hours – Oregon Real Estate Practice
          • 30 hours – Real Estate Finance
          • 15 hours – Contracts
          • 15 hours – Agency Law
          • 10 hours – Property Management
          • 20 hours – Brokerage Management
      • Pass State and National Exam 
      • Complete background check and submit fingerprints 
      • Pay applicable fee

Oregon Real Estate License: Principal Broker

Requirements to Obtain a Principal Broker License:

      • Be 18 years old
      • Provide proof of high school diploma or equivalent
      • Have three years of active real estate license experience 
      • Complete 40 hour Broker Administration and Sales Supervision course (BASS) from certified continuing education provider.
      • Apply for license and pay $300.00 nonrefundable fee.
      • Pass State and National Exam
      • Pass background check
      • Choose to work under: 
          • An existing registered business name – The principal broker of the business must log in and add your license to the business.
          • Your own registered business name.

Broker & Principal Broker Post-Licensing

Post-License: Requirements for First Renewal

      • Licensees must keep certificate of attendance for 3 years
      • Must complete 3 hour Law and Rule required course
      • Must complete 27 hour Broker Advanced Practice

Broker & Principal Broker Continuing Education

Continuing Education Requirements:

      • Licensees must keep certificate of attendance for 3 years
      • Must complete 3 hour Law and Rule required course
